OK…so I’m going to go out on a limb with this post, as so often we can’t see, unless we’ve walked through a journey & view it from another perspective…a higher perspective…a road less traveled…

There is much revelation & Scriptural/historical evidence to support that King David was BOTH a man after God’s own heart AND a skilled musician (Note Scripture references at the end of this post). David established an entire worship system of skilled musicians & singers for the very purpose of offering up to the Lord the most excellent of praise 24/7. The Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation release exhortations of ascribing skill & excellence unto God Most High & to Jesus, the Worthy Lamb who was slain. David’s heart as a worshiper, his skill on his instrument, AND his anointing were all used by the Lord to drive tormenting spirits from the atmosphere (1 Samuel 16:23).

Satan, the first worship leader, was created to lead worship in beauty & skill unimaginable, prior to his prideful fall. Both he & his demonic hordes understand the power of excellent praise & worship from vessels whose hearts are after the King. Unfortunately, his downfall has kept many who were born to be skillful in excellent worship, who have invested the hours & years it takes to become skillful, in captivity to judgment by & fear of man, in the name of protecting the ‘church’ from their prideful hearts.

The Lord has always been & will always be worthy of nothing less than skillful, excellent praise & worship. The church for far too long has been fearful of musicians being ‘of this world’ and having a ‘performance heart.’ Consequently, many of its most skilled/gifted musicians have gone elsewhere in order to use their gifts, steering clear of being ‘judged for having wrong hearts,’ as well as actually being able to use their giftings/skills as their tent making (very few musicians are paid to serve in the church, therefore have to pay their bills through other means). This has hindered many creative & skillful musicians from desiring to encounter the One who gave them the gift for His own glory, thus becoming a part of the Body as the Father has called them to be.

As the Body of Christ, we need to be purposeful about walking in love & calling forth those who the Lord Himself, the Giver of all good gifts in the first place, purposed to be used in His service to express His glory. The Church needs to be the very ones on the cutting edge of releasing new songs, the most excellent of singers, musicians, dancers, artists, writers, & the entire array of amazing creative gifts with which to express the glory & praise of our Creator. Praise God, some churches have said, ‘yes,’ to the Lord using them to restore this significant missing piece in the Body of Christ, but it needs to be embraced by the whole Body of Christ & not just a few.

Jesus didn’t teach mediocrely…His teaching amazed even those who despised Him. He didn’t heal or do the miraculous mediocrely. He didn’t live nor die mediocrely…it was all off the charts to the utmost for His Highest, thus neither should His sons/daughters do anything, but especially His worship & praise, mediocrely! We need to put our hand to the plow & develop/train/equip to our utmost potential with diligence & hard work those very gifts we were given to be an expression of here on Earth. We need to discover what those gifts are early on in life & then put our hand to the plow, all for His glory, as it truly takes hours & years of diligent practice to become skillful! We cannot lead others where we haven’t been willing to follow ourselves. It is time to release & bless those who are growing up/grew up/investing their lives figuring this out, being obedient to develop & become proficient at their giftings & skills. It’s time to stop the envying/judging/holding back those who have the creative ‘coveted’ giftings (I say ‘coveted,’ because many people desire to be good at an instrument ‘up front’ leading on the ‘platform,’ but aren’t willing to invest the time it takes to walk in that position).

What hasn’t been accepted Body wide, is that every single person has his/her own area(s) of gifting(s), which may or may not be one of the ‘highly visible’ gifts. The Giver of all good gifts is Sovereign & He decides what gifts are given to whom, they’re ALL good as He is good, & we need to walk in trust of His creative sovereign decisions & respond with wholehearted thanksgiving, diligence, obedience, encouragement, blessings, & the unending array of good things His nature in us releases amongst His Body. We wouldn’t hire a mediocre carpenter to build our church. We wouldn’t hire a mediocre pastor to shepherd the flock. No, we seek His leading in choosing His very best for all decisions, & especially those that impact the entire Body…like the worship…

We need to get a fresh revelation that this is ALL about the worship of the King of Kings. We are living in the very times of preparing the way for His return. The most glorious, excellent worship is ahead of us for all eternity. The part we have had difficulty grasping is that we ARE eternal beings the moment we invite Him into our lives as Lord. It is precisely then, we begin the amazing journey of discovering who we are as His worshipers created to worship in Spirit & in Truth.

Do we run the risk of someone not always have the ‘right heart’ or not being ‘as mature’ if we walk in & release this revelation? Scripture is very clear about judging one another’s hearts…it’s not our call. Our call is to make disciples, encourage, edify, & comfort one another’s journeys, leaving the details of the heart’s journey up to our Heavenly Father, because the truth is, we never see in fullness what’s going on in someone else’s heart…only the Father holds that place. We oftentimes can’t even recognize what’s going on in our own hearts, much less someone else’s. This is what the Kingdom of Heaven looks like on Earth: embracing & empowering one another to be released/equipped/skilled in bringing the highest glory & honor to our King, free of worrying about our brothers/sisters judging, envying, positioning themselves, etc. in someone else’s call or gifting. Let’s stop the false humility & get on with the work of advancing the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth (Matthew 11:12)…it’s all about the worship & the lifestyle that goes with it…releasing the goodness of God with every breath we take!

This is what the new wine skin…a maturing Body of Christ…walks in/looks like. This is the Body that will make the world stand up, take note, & want to know the true God we love & serve. This is the Body that walks in agape love, mercy, compassion, kindness, gentleness, etc. the world needs to see & experience expressed in word & action, including & especially through the very individuals gifted/born/trained up to be an expression of Heaven on Earth in preparing the eternal worshipers for glorious eternal worship.
