Patricia King posted an article on Elijah List this week, March 4, 2014, entitled, Love Under Fire – The Days are Both Glorious and Treacherous. I was prompted to repost a previous article I wrote in April 2011, as the King article confirms what I was hearing in my spirit the day I originally posted the article. Continued confirmation is always good!

One morning in April 2011, I awoke with the number 721. I knew it could possibly be a date, as well as a Scripture. However, I was unable to determine which Scripture, so I set it aside until He was ready to reveal more details to me. Later that day I lay down to worship and listen, and immediately heard “Daniel.” Daniel 7:21. “I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, “until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom.” I then proceeded to meditate on Daniel 7:15-22, which parallels much of what’s transpiring globally today. I was stirred with an excitement in my spirit about Daniel having a vision that pertained to the very days in which we are living! I also sensed the Lord’s urgency for us as His disciples to unite concerning verse 22, because the time has come for the saints to possess the Kingdom. We have already been given the favor of Christ, and all things with which to discern and act from in Him (Romans 5:2, 2 Peter 1:3). We have His Word and His Spirit to give us spiritual eyes and ears with which to receive His favor, and to partner with Him in possessing the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. The Kingdom of Heaven on Earth is an eternal Kingdom NOW, residing within those who choose to believe and confess Jesus Christ as Savior/Lord and receive His righteousness. His Kingdom is a Kingdom of higher ways and all of the goodness of our Heavenly Father in the unseen realm that has been restored unto the sons of the Most High God through the blood and the light of Christ.

We know the enemy is waging war against the saints, and in so many cases, he has ‘appeared’ to be prevailing, even though we are already aligned in the favor of Christ as we seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness. What are we not understanding about the greater works He said we would do (John 14:12)? Why are we not seeing the supernatural healings His precious body so brutally endured to release? The deliverances, breakthroughs, provision, restoration, etc. on behalf of those in captivity, He died and rose to set free? What does it mean to possess the Kingdom, and to pray His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven, since as disciples of Christ, as His sons seated in Heavenly places, we have already received His Kingdom and His favor (Ephesians 2:6, Hebrews 12:28, Revelations 5:10)?

I believe the saints of the Kingdom have been journeying through an appointed time of testing, refining, maturation, transformation, and learning to rest in who Christ is within us; His identity, His righteousness and His eternal power, in order to better carry the very nature of the Father in Christ into the darkness (Ecclesiastes 3:1, Habakkuk 2:2-3). As humans, unless our flesh is submitted to the will of the Father, we misuse His power, His strength and His authority, which accompany His favor for bringing Heaven’s perspective and provision to Earth.1 The Gospel of Jesus Christ has been misrepresented far too long (see my previous article on Religion or Relationship). His saints have been cooperating with a transformation period of learning to walk in the fruit of the Vine (John 15:4-8), which will result in His favor being released in greater measure, empowering us to partner with His Spirit and His Word in possessing the Kingdom on behalf of others. We must learn to see our circumstances and our world from Heaven’s economy, and then bring that perspective to Earth through our worship, praise and thanksgiving; through abiding in Christ and operating in the Fruits of His Spirit; and through releasing the giftings He has given to each to manifest His glory and His heart out in and to a world who needs to KNOW Him, not just about Him.

What does possessing the Kingdom look like? In reading Daniel 7:15-22. verse 18 states,“But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.” We must first receive the Kingdom in order to possess it. Receiving the Kingdom comes through our repentance (allowing Holy Spirit and the Word to change our thinking), for the Kingdom is at hand (Matthew 4:17), through receiving the gift of the Father’s love and forgiveness in Christ, and through seeking first the righteousness of Christ (Matthew 6:33). In order to possess the Kingdom, we have to seek our King and His righteousness: all He has extended to us and accomplished on our behalf. We seek to know and understand who Jesus and all His favor has made us to be. To possess the Kingdom we must learn to perceive ourselves as the Father sees us through the love of the shed blood of His perfected Son and His righteousness (Heaven’s perspective), and then learn to walk in continual relationship with His Spirit. Wholehearted seeking (Matthew 22:37) and being aligned in Christ – His blood-covered favor, His Word & His Spirit – releases revelation for partnering with the Father in possessing His Kingdom on the Earth. The Kingdom of Heaven will always be about manifesting the infinite love of our Heavenly Father to mankind through His Son, Jesus Christ, who also came to destroy the works of darkness (1 John 3:8). The Kingdom, however, is also about choosing to live one’s life wholeheartedly surrendered to the leading of Holy Spirit in alignment with the Word.

It’s one thing to read a truth, another to know or understand a truth in one’s mind, and yet another to be transformed by a revelation of that truth in one’s spirit and soul. When we really take hold of the truth of the Kingdom, we understand it’s all about what the blood of Jesus has already accomplished. It’s about cooperating with His Spirit and His Word at work within us, transforming us into the very nature of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18).

When Jesus states we worship Him in ‘spirit and in truth’ (John 4:23-24), He decreed that we need both His Word and His Spirit. His Word is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and His Spirit is the One who guides us into all truth (John 16:13). The Lord graces revelation to His Church in such a way that in order to BE His Church on the Earth as He has purposed, we must all:

  • keep our eyes on Jesus (the only way, the only truth, & the only life)
  • align with His written Word
  • listen and respond to the voice of His Holy Spirit
  • function in His nature with/toward one another (in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness & self-control), and
  • walk in obedience to His leading (our response to His great love for us).

The Lord showed me a picture of His Kingdom functioning together on the Earth. Since I’m a musician, He revealed the analogy to me in the language I speak. His people comprise the individual notes of His master symphony, each specifically placed and fitted together in varying combinations for expressing His beautifully sonorous melodies and harmonies wherever He has placed them. The various instrumental sections in His orchestra are represented by His Church, diverse ministries dispersed throughout all facets of culture and nations through His Word-filled sons carrying and releasing gifts, skills, and the expressions of Heaven through the empowering of Holy Spirit. Each instrumental section must work in conjunction with the rest of the orchestra, following the Conductor, in order for the complete symphony to sound on the Earth as He created and intended it to resonate. This is a magnificent picture of His incredible masterpiece, Symphonie Eternal, which has no ending. It gloriously sounds forth throughout all eternity, however His intention is for it to sound on the Earth in our eternal NOW as it is in Heaven.

We have commissioned to establish the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. Jesus’ model prayer, in Matthew 6:9-13, exhorts us to pray and believe for His Kingdom, His will, and His Good News, to manifest on Earth, AS it is in Heaven. How are Christ’s disciples supposed to answer this call amidst these difficult times in which we are currently living? Certainly we are to pray without ceasing. Scripture also clearly states that in Christ, we have been given everything we need to live as overcomers empowered from Heaven’s perspective and economy, regardless of events and circumstances transpiring around us or throughout the world (2 Peter 1:2-8).

To conclude, I believe the entire Word-filled, Spirit-filled Body of Christ has been in an intense and accelerated season of this very process for such times as these. The world is either currently looking or will soon be looking for people who not only know the truth, but actually know the Truth in the Person of Christ Jesus and walk it out. Kingdom citizens have been devoting and yielding themselves to His plan for their lives, and are actually learning to walk out the truth of His very nature manifesting in us. He has been ‘fine tuning’ His orchestra, in order that we ‘play’ in tune, in time, and in harmony with His Headship, His favor, and with one another, as we learn to seek His higher ways in possessing the Kingdom of Heaven on the Earth. There is a multitude of notes (those who have not encountered the living Christ) that have yet to take their place in this grand musical score. The Kingdom orchestra needs to brilliantly resound in order for the all of the individual notes to be drawn to their place in His Symphony. The Body of Christ should be stirred to great joy and excitement, to go deep and high in relationship with Him, because we were created for this very day and hour to be His hands and feet on the Earth. It is our time to partner with the King of Kings in possessing His Kingdom, always prepared for His appointed return!
