Tammy’s Biography:
Tammy Sorenson  is a Psalmist and Teacher, a special ops Kingdom force, sharing her portion of Holy Spirit light and her key of skilled Spirit-led music as a vessel to awaken, release, and activate freedom and restoration through the blood atonement of Jesus Christ to those caught in bondage (Isaiah 61). “Here I am, send me” (Isaiah 6:8).

Tammy Sorenson of Sound Expressions, The Arts Expressed, and formerly Jaran Family Ministries has been involved in music since elementary school. She has a B.A. in Piano Performance, a B.S. in Vocal Music Education, an M.A. in Music Education, a Doctorate in Practical Theology, is licensed and ordained by the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies, is a Certified Sound Healing Therapist and Certified VoiceBio Sound Therapist, a Certified Essential Oils Coach, and a Life Coach. Jaran Family Ministries ministered at family camps, conferences, seminars, prayer and worship gatherings, and women’s retreats. Sorenson has been involved in local church leadership, beginning in worship ministry leadership at age eleven, and serving the last 38 years with her husband, Kevan. She taught in the public school as a music educator for nearly 10 years, in private music instruction for 37 years, and as a home educator of their six children for 20 plus years. The Sorenson’s have three biological children, Jaran (29), twins Jessa and Jadan (26), and three adopted children from Guatemala, Jenna, (27), Jocilyn (24), and Josiah (22), all of who have ministered with the family in various areas of gifting’s over the past 20 plus years. Tammy has also served in children’s and family ministry leadership 28 years and House of Prayer ministry 18 years. Healing Expressions For Trauma, August 2018, is her fourteenth Sound Expressions Sound Healing Therapy album; it’s intention is uniquely specific to the areas of the body impacted by traumatic experiences and memories (*see album details under Album Notes pertaining to sound and healing therapy specifics and benefits). She also has an August 2018 three CD release, entitled, The Arts Expressed, which is part of her August 2018 curriculum release, The Arts Expressed – Equipping Generations Through The Creative Arts.  Sound Expressions for Kids, is her thirteenth Sound Healing Therapy CD release (*see CD NOTES for details pertaining to Sound Healing therapy specifics and benefits); her first CD created specifically and intentionally for children. Sound Expressions for Kids incorporates holistic infused frequencies through instrumental music created intentionally to release Word, Spirit, peace, calming, and creativity into the atmospheres of children. Sorenson’s latest curriculum, The Children’s Heart Cry…Teach Me (Equipping the Generations to BE the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth) is her first comprehensive parent/teacher curriculum was released in November 2017, as was her School of the Psalmists.

Kevan’s Biography: B.A. Music Performance/B.S. Finance, Moorhead State University, Moorhead, MN; 32 years in business; licensed teacher and preacher; family and children’s ministry 16 years; keyboardist, guitarist, bass guitarist, sound specialist, arranger, recording and production for the family ministry. Kevan plays a supportive role in working with various aspects of gear, equipment, sound, & rehearsal/gig transport.

The Sorensons biological children, Jaran (age 25), Jessa (age 22), and Jadan (age 22) were active in the family music and children’s ministries for nearly fourteen years.

Jaran is an independent musician who’s initial networking began in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He began playing violin at the age of three, and moved onto piano at the age of five, drums at age nine, and guitar and bass in his early teens. He graduated from Hennepin Technical College with an A.A.S. degree in Audio Production at age 18. Jaran’s first gig as a drummer was with his family’s band, called Jaran Family Ministries, with whom he traveled the Midwest playing conferences, services, camps and church events for over ten years. He began playing recording sessions at the age of 15, playing on Nashville song pitches, and later moved onto jingles, demos and albums. After graduating Hennepin Technical College, he began independently producing and engineering records for local bands and singer songwriters. As part of his production, he played all the instruments (drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, and programming) on several of the recordings. Jaran has been the drummer for many churches throughout Minnesota and the Twin Cities area. He was the main drummer for Substance Church, one of the fastest growing churches in America, and was also the head drum technician. He was also the first-call drummer for the Fifth Service Band at Living Word Christian Center. Jaran was a touring member of the band, Hyland, also appearing as an engineer on their full length album and in all of their music videos. Jaran currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife Stephanie, pursuing his love and passion for drumming and the music industry. Jadan is an acoustic, electric and bass guitarist, songwriter, artist, and holds an A.A.S degree in Graphic Design: Creative Emphasis, specializing in print media & brand identity. He currently networks both graphic design & music in the Twin Cities. Jadan began studying mandolin, piano and bass guitar at age five, and guitar at age nine. He studied guitar at McPhail Center for Music. Minneapolis, MN. Jadan began playing guitar and bass with the Sorenson’s family music ministry in 1999. Since moving to the Twin Cities area in 2005, he has served on several church worship teams, including Living Waters Church, Substance Church, & Evangelist Crusaders Church. He has played with Paris Bennett (American Idol), Cameron Wright, High Praise Choir with David Hurst, and performed with various artists from Soullections, Darnell Davis and the Remnant, the gospel group God’s Will, and Corer Cotton of Sounds of Blackness. Jadan has played with Kelli Rae & Sole Remedy, WASETI (We Are Strong Enough To Inspire with Sam Reeves), the Nick Riley Band, the Chirch Crooner, for Living Word Christian Center 5th Service & Main Service Worship Ministries, is currently a musician at Victory World Church in Atlanta, GA, the Atlanta House of Prayer, as well as records for/plays with various Atlanta recording artists.

Jessa is a vocalist, dancer, keyboards, and holds an A.A.S in Professional Photography. Jessa Lyn Photography specializes in art photography for marketing, musicians and photography for engagements, weddings and graduations. She has been featured on the CD releases of Kelli Rae & Sole Remedy and Cameron Wright, both from the Twin Cities. Jessa was a Top 8 Finalist in Spirit 92.9 Opening Act Competition, and has served in worship ministries at Living Waters Church, Living Word Christian Center Driven Youth Group, and Substance Church in the Twin Cities. She has been a vocalist with Kelli Rae & Sole Remedy, WASETI (We Are Strong Enough To Inspire with Sam Reeves), Soullections, and is networking both her photography & music in the Twin Cities.

The Sorenson’s adopted children, Jenna (age 26), Jocilyn (age 24), and Josiah (age 21), played an integral part of the five-fold family ministry (prayer, art, evangelism and ministry), assisting with functional details since 2002. The siblings were born in Guatemala City, Guatemala. C.A.. Upon being abandoned by their birth parents at the ages of five, three and nine months, the children were placed in an orphanage. After four years in the orphanage, both were adopted by the Sorenson family and home educated. Both Jenna and Jocilyn have Child Development A.A.S. and A.S. degrees, and are employed as Early Childhood instructors. Jenna is gifted in art, creative writing, and called to missions. Jocilyn is gifted in lyrical worship dance, creative writing, and videography. Josiah, after navigating renal failure and a kidney transplant at the age of 15, now works in construction and is ‘finding his way.’
